T.V. Eye
“T.V. Eye” is a monochromatic series personifying the perverse and sinister gaze of public surveillance footage, challenging the societal acceptance of constant recordings through the presence of a human photographer adopting the role of the surveillance camera. Achieved on 35mm film, adding an analogue element that strengthens the core theme of a human security camera through capturing everyone onto a physical format, I took the role of an unobtrusive spectator as to spy on the everyday lives of the public, situating myself in high areas as to look down upon them. These photographers were then presented in a grid of 9, likening its appearance to that of screen monitors, further supported by the printing on glossy paper.
