I challenged the abyss, and came second.

This writing exercise focuses on a time I stared into the "abyss", using a moment of time I experienced sleep paralysis and turning it into a short 500 word story. I decided to write the narrative in a first person perspective so that I could humanise the abyss and make it appear like an enemy, instead of just being an entity, as I believed it would be more entertaining. All in all I found it to be adequate, but a bit juvenile and shallow in its overall meaning.
